How to Enable or Disable Thumbnail Previews in Firefox

Thumbnail Previews in Firefox 3.6 are not enabled by default in Firefox’s built-in tab switcher functionality. Luckily, you can customize the Firefox browser according to your choice to an extent and enable or disable certain features that were available with your previous installation of your firefox browser.

Enable Thumbnail previews in Firefox 3.6

Step 1: Type about:config into the URL.
Step 2: Search for the browser.ctrlTab.previews setting
Step 3: Double-click on the entry to change the Value to “true”.
Step 4: (Optional) Search for the browser.ctrlTab.recentlyUsedLimit setting. Double-click on the entry to raise or lower the number to adjust the number of tabs in thumbnail preview window. Alternately, you can enable the setting browser.allTabs.previews. Once enabled you can see thumbnail previews of all your open tabs.

Disable Thumbnail previews in Firefox 3.6

Step 1: Type about:config into the URL bar
Step 2: Search for the browser.ctrlTab.previews setting
Step 3: Double-click on the entry to change the Value to “False”.
