How to Activate Chinese Mobile IMEI Number Online

Fake International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers on mobiles, primarily manufactured in China has been disconnected from operator’s network after strict orders from Indian government as these anonymous phones can be used by terrorists to plan and execute attacks. China have sold up to 35 million of their grey market phones in India with spurious IMEI numbers.

What is IMEI Number?

The IMEI which is a 15-digit unique code is used by GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) networks to identify mobile devices. It is used by operators to block a stolen phone from using the network or tracing the criminal. To get the IMEI number press *#06# keys on your mobile handset. IMEI number is in AAAAAA-BB-CCCCCC-D format:
Details of IMEI Number-
AAAAA – Type of the phone
BB – Manufacturing country code
CCCCC – Phone serial number
D – IMEI Verifier

How to Check if IMEI Number on Mobile Phone is Valid?

  1. Type *#06# . It will give you the IMEI number of your Mobile. Otherwise check the compliance plate under the battery.
  2. Note down the IMEI number and send it to 53232 via SMS. The format should be IMEI <IMEI>. If IMEI number is valid you will receive a Success message. Users may also validate online by visiting website numberingplans. Enter IMEI number in a valid format. For Example: 350077-52-323751-3. You will get information regarding manufacturer, model type, and country of approval of a handset.

How to Register for a Vaild IMEI Number?

To activate blocked Chinese mobile in India, users with an invalid IMEI number on their handsets must implant new IMEI number by GII (Genuine IMEI Implant program) centers run by ICA (Indian Cellular Association). To change IMEI number you need to shed Rs. 199 only. There are around 1600 GII Centers available all over India. But, make sure that you carry necessary documents like Voter ID card, Driving License, Passport, Ration card and passport size photo for verification process. Alternatively, register IMEI number online at Genuine IMEI Implant program to get a valid IMEI number to unblock or activate your blocked Chinese mobile

    hi,
    my chinese phone has a unique IMEI number. it is not fake. but still my sim isnt working. any idea how to get it activated/registered?
    help would be sincerely appreciated.
